Organic Bulgur 250 gr

1.80

Biodynamic wheat is used to make our organic bulgur. The wheat is cultivated here in Agia Triada, Farsala, Thessaly, and has been for three generations. It is cleaned to remove foreign particles, boiled, dried and crushed.

Bulgur (the) is a typical Mediterranean product that is both nutritious and healthy. Since only a very small proportion of the wheat bran is removed during its making, bulgur is recognized by both USDA and the Whole Grains Council, as a whole grain cereal, rich in fiber.

Bulgur is not to be confused with:

  • Cracked wheat, which is just crushed wheat without parboiling,
  • Semolina, that originates from milling of the internal part of the wheat (endosperm) and is coarser than flour.

Bulgur can be enjoyed in various culinary forms and is suitable for breakfast, lunch or dinner, in both sweet and savory dishes.

Commonly used in salads, bulgur is also a great replacement to rice in soups, as a stuffing or as a side dish.
