Laurel is cultivated here in Agia Triada, Farsala, Thessaly, in our land of three generations. It is hand-picked and dried naturally to maintain its high quality and aroma.

Couch or bay tree is characterized as aromatic, antirheumatic, antiseptic , carminative, , diuretic, emollient, emmenagogue, diaphoretic, narcotic, appetizer, paraciticide, stomachic, astringent, tonic, digestive. It can be emetic in large doses and abortifacient.

The bay tree has been referenced for its long use in folk medicine as an aid to digestion and in the treatment of bronchitis and influenza, as well as various types of cancer. Reports also refer to the use of the leaves in the treatment of hysteria, amenorrhea, flatulent colic, upper respiratory tract disorders, for easing arthritic pains.

Bay leaves, spicy and aromatic, are commonly used dry as a flavoring and digestive aid in sauces and marinades, soups and stews, with meats, fish, legumes, or brewed into a herbal tea.
