The third generation of a family of farmers, we are the 1st greek biodynamic farm with annual crops to be certified by Demeter International . Promoting awareness on well-being and healthy living is one of the foundations in the existence and operation of our farm. A diet with healthy biodynamic food is an important aspect of this approach, paired with freedom from the stressful factors of everyday life such as only proximity to nature, farm animals and light manual farm work can offer. Combined with various outdoor activities , that could for example include walks, exercise and/or yoga, seminars on fields related to well-being, will be our contribution to the awakening of people of all ages towards a better quality of life. Special emphasis is given on young people and children in particular, so we created a small experimental garden enabling our little friends to have fun.

We had visitors, including French volunteers, students from Greece and abroad, tourist groups for farm tours and lunch with our biodynamic goodies.

Our most recent activity was the 1st Farm Open Day on Sunday 5 st of March 2017. With free entry, we hosted visitors of all ages: young people, families with children, older people . Following a welcome drink paired with raisin bread for the grownups and freshly baked pancakes for the children , all with our healthy biodynamic flour, volunteers of all ages had fun with a lively handson lesson on easy bread making, also with our biodynamic flour. Starting with an easy bread recipe, we believe that people will get over the myth over certain food preparations traditionally considered as difficult and time-consuming. Gradually interest and participation will increase and they will get used to healthy, forgotten flavors such that a step at a time they will be prepared for more challenging, yet always easy and fast, recipes, all with healthy ingredients. Then, healthy cooking and dieting will be incorporated in their daily lives.

While baking the breads, we toured the farm with the crops and the animals with a simultaneous briefing on our biodynamic farming practice. . Finally, back to the premises, we talked about the after-harvest handling of our products , the stonemill, and our visitors tasted the freshly baked hot breads served with homemade trachanas soup made with our organic trachanas , and departed carrying the healthy products they purchased from our little farm shop .

The children also had fun with activities specifically planned for them, with top moments being those connected with the farm animals.

We are planning to make Farm Open Days part of our programme, complementary to the wellbeing activities described here.
